The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) invites qualified and experienced applicants for the following different vacant positions.

Position 1 – IT Officer

  • Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
  • Employment Category: H1

  • EDUCATION: (include certificates, licenses, etc.)
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field, Postgraduate is a plus
  • Minimum 4(four) years of relevant work experience in a large-scale, busy multi-site environment s of an international NGO
  • LANGUAGE: (indicate fluency level)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Professional technical experience evidencing and demonstrating the ability to deliver against the above-mentioned responsibilities:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that provides regular challenges
  • Clear understanding of automated user life cycle
  • Heterogeneous Operating Systems including Windows, Linux android (OS) and MacOS
  • Messaging, Directory, and Name Server including Exchange Online, Azur Directory Server, DNS, DHC, and Hosted Domain System
  • Cloud Solution based Enterprise solutions including Microsoft Office365 (Share Point, Azure, Teams, OneDrive Mail, Yammer, etc), Hosted Domain System, and Microsoft Dynamics ERP System
  • Networking: Cisco Meraki, Routing, Switching, TCP/IP, NTP, LAN, WAN, Wireless, DNS, NFS, NIS, LDAP, SMTP, POP/IMAP, SSH, Telnet
  • Security Solutions: Heimdal, Bitdefender, Exchange Online Protection, Cisco Meraki
  • Hardware and Peripherals including HP, Lenovo, DELL, Cisco, Meraki, TP-Link, D-Link
  • Clear understanding of telecommunication services being managed by the ISP
  • Willing to regularly learn about new technologies and adapt to ever-changing organizational needs
  • Must be a team player
  • Demonstrated communication and follow-up skills needed
  • Hands-on experience on Cisco Meraki device
  • Experience in cloud-based collaboration especially Modern SharePoint and Team
  • Perform any other IT-related duties as assigned

Position 2 – HR and Administration Officer

  • Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

  • Experience – 4(four) years’ experience for Diploma or above 2-year experience for BA holders
  • High integrity, pro-active, stable, robust character and a good team-player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
  • Experience in working in NGOs
  • Proven commitment to accountability practices.
  • Knowledge of computers: word processing, database management packages.
  • EDUCATION: (include certificates, licenses, etc.) BA in Human Resource Management or other relevant fields.

Position 3 – Information Management Officer – Protection(Re- Advertised)

  • At least 2(two) years of experience with an NGO or UN agency, at least 1(one) year of which should be in an operational setting.
  • Experience in developing, managing information and using databases in humanitarian settings.

Position 4 – Support Services Manager

  • Education (include certificates, licenses etc.):University degree in finance
  • Languages: (indicate fluency level)
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English, Amharic & Tigrinya
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior finance position, preferably with an international humanitarian organization.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work in complex and difficult circumstances.
  • High level of personal initiative, analytical skills and pro-active problem solving.
  • Demonstrated people’s management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain working relationships across the organization. Be a team player
  • Good knowledge of supply chain management is an advantage

Position 5 – WASH Manager(Re – Asvertised)

  • Location: Jijiga
  • Employment Category: F2
  • Reporting To: Area Manager
  • Direct Reports: Senior WASH Engineer (1), WASH Officers- HP (2), WASH assistants HP (4), WASH Assistant – Construction Forman (1), WASH assistant -plumbing and pump technician (1) and Water trucking monitors (6) and tap attendants (8)
  • Unit/Department: WASH
  • Start of Contract & Duration: 10 Months till March 31, 2023
  • Seasoned manager with minimum 5 years of proven working experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context. Our ideal candidate will have technical WASH expertise in engineering and/or public health, experience from working in WASH humanitarian programs in emergency as well as in complex and volatile contexts, and documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Proven and good understanding of community-based approaches, including clear involvement of children, women and people with disabilities in the hygiene promotion and others sector that are related to WASH project.
  • Education (include certificates, licenses etc.):
  • A University or higher education graduate in a subject relevant to the assignment (preferably in Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Water Supply and Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health/ Public Health or other related fields)
  • Languages: (indicate fluency level)
  • Excellent skills in speaking, reading and writing English.
  • Knowledge of Somali language is an advantage
