Position  – Mail Room Clerk

Qualification: Completion of high/secondary school is required.
Experience: Minimum one year of administrative work experience is required.
Salary:USD $8,208 – USD $8,208

Duties

Under the direct supervision of the DPO Mail Supervisor, incumbent serves as a Diplomatic Post Office (DPO) and Diplomatic Pouch and Mail (DPM) mail clerk with driver and pouch/item tracking duties. Incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Mission’s unclassified DPO and DPM services, handling of International and local mail for the Mission and its on-compound distribution needs.  Incumbent will also periodically assist with Classified Diplomatic Pouch operations, sometimes after working hours, in a liaison capacity with local airport and customs officials.

Skills and Abilities:

Perform DPM and DPO operations such as receiving incoming mail and processing outgoing mail. Possess excellent customer service skills. Be able to physically lift and move heavy pouches and drive large transport vehicles with automatic or manual transmission. Maintain a valid 3rd class driver’s license and airport tarmac license. Minimum 5 years of owning a driver’s license. (These may be tested).

Agency Benefits:
Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Addis Ababa/Ethiopia may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
